This is a comprehensive list of collaborative submissions from in-service teachers, pre-service teachers, and teacher education faculty worldwide for young children and teachers to use in homes and classrooms. This compilation of free literacy apps was updated once a year until July 15, 2020. The PAPER Rubric was used to evaluate these apps. Please feel free to use this evaluation tool to continue to evaluate literacy apps since they are created at a phenomenal pace. Yet, not all of the literacy apps out there are effective in teaching young children. If you evaluate any and want to share, I would be grateful to continue adding to this list of appropriate, free literacy apps for teachers to use as a way to support the literacy development of young children at home and at school.
